Description

Air fryer jam stuffed French toast with a sealed jam center and a granulated sugar coating — like a jam donut, in twelve minutes.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread, any type
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam, or any flavor
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, for coating

Instructions

  • Cut a circle from the center of each bread slice using a 3-inch biscuit cutter.
  • Spoon 1 tablespoon of jam onto the center of half the circles, leaving a clear border around the edge.
  • Top each with a second circle and press the edges together firmly to seal.
  • Whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla in a shallow bowl. Put the granulated sugar in a second shallow bowl.
  • Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides, and lift out immediately.
  • Preheat the air fryer if your model requires it. Spray the basket or tray with olive oil and arrange the sandwiches in a single layer.
  • Cook at 320°F for 5 minutes on the air fryer setting. No flipping required.
  • Immediately transfer to the bowl of sugar and coat both sides while hot.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
  • 3-inch biscuit cutter
