Description

Learn how to make crispy, homemade Seneca-style apple chips in the air fryer. This easy, healthy snack is naturally sweet, quick to prepare, and perfect for fall or anytime.

Ingredients

  • 3 large apples, any type
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar, optional, or coconut sugar

Instructions

  • Wash, core, and thinly slice the 3 large apples (about 1/8-inch thick). The thinner the slices, the crispier the chips.
  • Lightly sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon granulated sugar over the apple slices, if desired.
  • Set your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
  • Lay apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping to ensure even crisping.
  • Cook for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Keep an eye on them—thinner slices may cook faster.
  • Let the chips cool completely on a wire rack for maximum crispness. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Equipment

  • Apple Corer
  • Mandoline
  • Gloves For Protection
  • Cooking Spray
