Description

If you’re still using a toaster for your frozen waffles, you’re missing out on the ultimate breakfast upgrade. While toasters often leave you with burnt edges and a lukewarm, soggy middle, the air fryer uses rapid hot air circulation to create a "shatter-crisp" exterior and a pillowy soft center in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 frozen waffles, any type
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup, or melted butter, optional for topping

Instructions

  • Place your 4 frozen waffles in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid stacking or overlapping; airflow is the key to that signature crunch.
  • Set your air fryer temperature to 360 degrees F. For standard waffles, set the timer for 4 minutes. If you prefer them extra dark and crunchy, go for 5 minutes.
  • For thinner waffles, flipping isn't strictly necessary. However, for thicker Belgian-style waffles, flipping them halfway through ensures the bottom doesn't stay soft.
  • The waffles will continue to crisp up for about 30 seconds after you remove them. Plate them, top them, with 2 teaspoons maple syrup and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray, optional
  • Parchment Paper, Optional
