Description

Sweet, crunchy, and lightly salted honey roasted walnuts made in the air fryer in just 10 minutes. The perfect snack, salad topper, or homemade holiday gift — 5 ingredients, no oven required.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw walnut halves
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus flaky sea salt for finishing

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350℉. Line the tray with parchment paper or aluminum foil to prevent the syrup from dripping and burning on the bottom.
  • Mix all the ingredients in a medium bowl until well combined. Make sure the sugar has started to melt and the sugar has dissolved.
  • Add the walnuts to the air fryer basket, then set the cooking time for 6-10 minutes at 350 degrees F, using the air fryer setting. Shake the basket frequently during the cooking process.
  • Transfer the roasted walnuts to a large bowl, season your walnuts with additional Kosher or Sea Salt, and mix well.

Equipment

  • Parchment Paper Liner, or Aluminum Foil

Notes

Notes

- PARCHMENT IS KEY: The honey-sugar coating can burn onto the air fryer basket. Parchment paper makes cleanup effortless.
- DON'T CROWD: Cook in a single layer for the crispiest results. Double batches should be air fried in two rounds.
- WATCH CLOSELY: Honey burns quickly. Start checking at minute 6 — when the kitchen smells toasty, they're done.
- STORAGE:
- Room temperature (airtight container): up to 2 weeks
- Refrigerator: up to 1 month
- Freezer: up to 3 months
- IF STICKY: Re-crisp in the air fryer at 300°F for 1-2 minutes.
- SUBSTITUTIONS:
- Maple syrup for honey
- Coconut oil or ghee for butter
- Brown sugar for granulated (deeper flavor)
- Pumpkin pie spice for cinnamon
