Description
Smoky, sweet, and tangy with a warm bourbon finish — a homemade take on a classic hickory bourbon barbecue sauce.
Ingredients

tomato sauce

tomato paste

molasses

packed light brown sugar

distilled white vinegar

Worcestershire sauce

onion powder

Instructions
Whisk tomato sauce, tomato paste, molasses, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, tamarind, and water in a saucepan.
Whisk in onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, cayenne, and liquid smoke.
Simmer on low for 15–20 minutes, stirring often.
Stir in bourbon and simmer 8–10 more minutes.
Adjust seasoning, thin with water if needed, then cool and store.
