Easy Halloween spider hot dogs made with crescent roll dough and candy eyes. A fun 5-ingredient snack for kids and Halloween parties, made in the oven or air fryer.
Ingredients
6hot dogs
8ouncecrescent roll dough, (or crescent dough sheet)
24candy eyes
2tablespoonsmustard, plus more for the web (optional)
4tablespoonsketchup, for dipping
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut each hot dog in half crosswise to make 12 pieces. Make a cross-shaped cut about ¾ inch deep into both ends of each piece, leaving about 1 inch uncut in the middle.
Unroll the crescent dough, pinch the perforations together, and cut it into 12 strips about ½ inch wide.
Wrap one dough strip around the middle of each hot dog piece and tuck the ends underneath. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet and gently spread the legs apart.
Bake for 13–15 minutes, until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
Cool for 2–3 minutes. Add two small dots of mustard to each spider and press on the candy eyes.
Optional: Pipe mustard circles onto a serving plate and drag a toothpick outward from the center to make a web. Arrange the spiders on top and serve with ketchup.
