This Guava BBQ Sauce is a sweet, tangy, and tropical twist on classic barbecue sauce, perfect for adding bold flavor to any meal. Made with fresh ingredients and a touch of island flair, it’s ideal for grilling, dipping, or marinating. Quick to make and incredibly versatile, it’s sure to become your new go-to sauce!

Ingredients 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 guava, or guava paste
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons worcheshire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cilantro, for serving

Instructions

  • Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add in the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped guava, and diced onion. Cook for five minutes.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400° for 3-5 minutes. Add the red pepper to the air fryer and cook for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and roughly chop. Add to the saucepan with the remaining sauce ingredients. Cover and cook for 7 minutes.
  • Toss with pasta or chicken, or serve as a dipping sauce for your favorite protein.
