Description

Juicy, golden chicken breast cooked straight from frozen in the air fryer, no thawing needed. A quick thaw blast lets the seasoning stick for real flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts (7–8 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Place the frozen chicken breasts in the basket in a single layer, unseasoned. Air fry for 8 minutes.
  • Remove the basket. Pat the chicken dry, brush both sides with oil, and season both sides with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and onion powder.
  • Air fry for 16 to 18 minutes more, flipping halfway, until the thickest part reaches 165°F (74°C). Adjust time for size using the chart in the post.
  • Rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.

Equipment

  • Instant-read meat thermometer
  • silicone brush
  • Tongs

Notes

  • Times are for 7–8 oz breasts. Small breasts take about 22 minutes total; extra-large take up to 30.
  • Breasts frozen together? Separate them after the 8-minute thaw blast.
  • Add sugary sauces only in the last 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. Reheat at 350°F for 4 to 6 minutes.
