Description

This First Watch grilled cheese recipe delivers crispy, buttery sourdough packed with melty cheddar and American cheese. It’s fast, simple, and tastes like a classic diner sandwich made fresh at home.

Ingredients 

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder

Instructions

  • Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Place two slices of bread butter-side down in the pan.
  • Layer cheddar and American cheese evenly on top.
  • Add remaining bread slices on top, butter-side facing out.
  • Cook until golden brown on one side and cheese begins melting.
  • Flip carefully and cook until both sides are crispy and cheese is fully melted.
  • Remove from skillet, rest for 1 minute, slice, and serve warm.
