Description

This easy Fireball BBQ sauce simmers ketchup, brown sugar and Fireball Cinnamon Whisky into a sweet, sticky barbecue sauce with a warm cinnamon kick. It's ready in 25 minutes and perfect for ribs, wings and pork chops.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Combine: In a medium saucepan, whisk the ketchup, Fireball, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, mustard, garlic powder and onion powder until smooth.
  • Simmer: Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring often.
  • Reduce: Lower the heat and simmer gently for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
  • Taste: Adjust with cayenne, more Fireball or more vinegar as you like.
  • Cool and store: Cool to room temperature, transfer to a jar and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.

Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Silicone spatula or wooden spoon
  • Glass jar or airtight container for storage
  • Basting brush, for glazing

Notes

The sauce thickens as it cools. Some alcohol remains after simmering; see the non-alcoholic version above.
