Description

Crispy, golden Easy Southern Fried Shrimp made at home with a flavorful seasoned coating, perfect for quick dinners or appetizers.

Ingredients 

  • 1 1/2 pounds Shrimp , peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper, optional
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil, for frying

Instructions

  • Peel and devein the 1 1/2 pounds Shrimp , then pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine 1 cup All-Purpose Flour, 1/4 cup Cornstarch, 1 teaspoon Paprika, 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder, 1 teaspoon Onion Powder 1 teaspoon Salt, 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper, and optional 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper.
  • In another bowl, whisk together 2 large Eggs and 1/4 cup Milk until smooth.
  • Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture, then dredge in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing gently to coat evenly.
  • Pour 1 cup Vegetable Oilinto a large skillet or deep fryer and heat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully add shrimp in batches, frying 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain. Serve hot with lemon wedges or your favorite dipping sauce.
