Description

This Easy Ribeye Steak Sandwich with Grilled Onions is a hearty, flavor-packed meal perfect for lunch, dinner, or game day. Juicy ribeye steak is sautéed with sweet caramelized onions and bell peppers, layered on a toasted bagel, and topped with melted provolone cheese for a sandwich that tastes like a restaurant favorite right at home.

Ingredients 

  • 2 bagels, split in half
  • 8 oz thinly sliced beef steak, ribeye or preferred cut
  • ½ green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • ½ onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or butter, optional, for spreading

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, warm the 1 tablespoon olive oil Add the 8 oz thinly sliced beef steak, ½ green bell pepper, and ½ onion. Season with g¼ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper. Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • If desired, spread a thin layer of 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or butter on each bagel half. Divide the cooked steak and vegetable mixture evenly over the 2 bagels halves. Top each with a slice of 4 slices provolone cheese.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. Place the assembled bagel halves in the basket in a single layer. Air fry for 4–6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bagels are lightly toasted.
  • Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy your hearty, cheesy ribeye steak sandwich!
