Easy Perkins Hash Browns are golden, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, making a delicious homemade breakfast or brunch side.
Ingredients
6mediumrusset potatoes, peeled and shredded
1small onion, finely diced
1 ½teaspoonssalt
1teaspoonblack pepper
3tablespoonsvegetable oil
2tablespoonsbutter
Instructions
Peel and shred the 6 medium russet potatoes. Rinse in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.
In a large bowl, combine shredded potatoes, diced 1 small onion, 1 ½ teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper. Toss until evenly mixed.
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and add 3 tablespoons vegetable oil and 2 tablespoons butter.
Add the potato mixture in an even layer. Press lightly with a spatula and cook undisturbed for 5-7 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.
Carefully flip portions of the hash browns and cook for an additional 5–7 minutes until crispy and cooked through.
Remove from the skillet and serve hot alongside eggs, bacon, or your favorite breakfast dishes.
