Description

Easy Perkins Hash Browns are golden, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, making a delicious homemade breakfast or brunch side.

Ingredients 

  • 6 medium russet potatoes, peeled and shredded
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  • Peel and shred the 6 medium russet potatoes. Rinse in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • In a large bowl, combine shredded potatoes, diced 1 small onion, 1 ½ teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper. Toss until evenly mixed.
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and add 3 tablespoons vegetable oil and 2 tablespoons butter.
  • Add the potato mixture in an even layer. Press lightly with a spatula and cook undisturbed for 5-7 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.
  • Carefully flip portions of the hash browns and cook for an additional 5–7 minutes until crispy and cooked through.
  • Remove from the skillet and serve hot alongside eggs, bacon, or your favorite breakfast dishes.
