Description

This Easy Guava BBQ Sauce blends sweet guava with smoky barbecue flavors for a bold, tangy sauce that works on chicken, pork, or ribs. It comes together fast with simple ingredients and adds a tropical twist to any grilled or air-fried meal.

Ingredients 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 guava, or guava paste
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cilantro, for serving

Instructions

  • Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add in the 1 tablespoon olive oil minced 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1 guava, 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder, and diced 1/2 cup sweet onion. Simmer for 5-6 minutes.
  • Preheat the air fryer temperature to 400 degrees for 3-5 minutes. Add the 1 red bell pepper to the air fryer and set cook time for 7-10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and roughly chop. Add to the saucepan with 1 tablespoon lime juice, 1/4 cup tomato paste, 1/4 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon cilantro.. Simmer and cook for another 7-9 minutes.
  • Toss with pasta or chicken, or serve as a dipping sauce for your favorite protein.
