Description

Crispy, golden pierogies cooked on a Blackstone griddle with sweet caramelized onions. This Easy Blackstone Pierogies and Onions recipe is perfect for a quick snack, appetizer, or weeknight meal.

Ingredients 

  • 16 pierogies, frozen or fresh
  • 2 tablespoons butter, or oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Serving: Sour Cream, and Fresh Herbs

Instructions

  • Heat your Blackstone griddle over medium heat. You want it hot enough to sizzle but not so hot that it burns the butter or oil.
  • Add about a tablespoon of butter or oil to the griddle.
  • Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the griddle. Sauté them until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, stirring occasionally. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once done, move them to a side of the griddle where they can stay warm without burning.
  • Add the remaining butter or oil to the griddle.
  • Place the frozen pierogies on the griddle. Cook them for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Season with salt and pepper while they cook.
  • Once the pierogies are cooked, you can mix them with the caramelized onions and garlic, gently tossing to combine.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
  • Offer sour cream on the side for dipping or topping.
