Description

Ingredients 

  • 16 frozen pierogies
  • 2 large yellow onions, or white onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, divided
  • 1 tablespoon butter, optional, for caramelized onions
  • Sour cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer temperature to 400 degrees F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Lightly spray or toss the 16 frozen pierogies with a bit of cooking oil to help them crisp up.
  • Place the pierogies in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Set cook time for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • While the pierogies cook, heat a small skillet over medium heat with 1 tablespoon butter or oil. Add the 2 large yellow onions, season with ½ teaspoon kosher salt and ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, and sauté until soft and caramelized, about 8–10 minutes.
  • Once pierogies are done, toss them with the caramelized onions. Serve immediately with Sour cream or your favorite dipping sauce.
