Ingredients
16frozen pierogies
2largeyellow onions, or white onions, thinly sliced
½teaspoonkosher salt, divided
¼teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper, divided
1tablespoonbutter, optional, for caramelized onions
Sour cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer temperature to 400 degrees F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Lightly spray or toss the 16 frozen pierogies with a bit of cooking oil to help them crisp up.
Place the pierogies in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Set cook time for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
While the pierogies cook, heat a small skillet over medium heat with 1 tablespoon butter or oil. Add the 2 large yellow onions, season with ½ teaspoon kosher salt and ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, and sauté until soft and caramelized, about 8–10 minutes.
Once pierogies are done, toss them with the caramelized onions. Serve immediately with Sour cream or your favorite dipping sauce.
