Description

The genius 2-ingredient hack: flatten canned cinnamon rolls, cut a hole in the center, air fry 5–6 minutes, and drizzle with the included icing. Light, fluffy donuts with a built-in cinnamon swirl — ready in under 15 minutes with no deep frying!

Ingredients

  • 12.4 ounces refrigerated cinnamon rolls, refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing (Pillsbury Original or Grands)
  • Cooking spray, olive oil or coconut oil — not Pam
  • Icing packet, included in can

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 320°F for 2–3 minutes. Lightly spray basket with cooking spray.
  • Open can and separate cinnamon rolls onto a cutting board. Gently press and flatten each roll with your palm to about ½ inch thickness.
  • Use a 1-inch round cutter (or bottle cap) to cut a hole in the center of each roll. Save the cut-out circles for donut holes.
  • Place donuts in a single layer in the basket — do not let them touch. Air fry at 320°F for 5–6 minutes until golden and puffed. Cook in batches. No need to flip.
  • Air fry the donut holes at 320°F for 3–4 minutes until golden. Watch closely — they cook fast.
  • Microwave the icing packet 5–8 seconds to thin it slightly for easy drizzling.
  • Let donuts cool on a rack for 60–90 seconds (still warm, not hot), then drizzle icing over each. Serve immediately.

Notes

Tips & notes
  • Use 320°F — cinnamon roll dough has more sugar than biscuits and browns faster at higher temps.
  • Don't overcrowd the basket — leave 1 inch between each donut, they expand as they cook.
  • Warm icing 5–8 sec in the microwave before drizzling — thick straight-from-packet icing clumps rather than drizzles.
  • Ice while warm, not hot — 60–90 seconds on a rack is the sweet spot for glaze adhesion.
  • Pillsbury Grands = bigger donuts; add 1–2 min cook time.
  • Variations: cream cheese icing, cinnamon sugar coating, maple glaze, or chocolate drizzle all work beautifully.
  • Store in airtight container at room temp up to 2 days. Reheat at 300°F for 2–3 min. Freeze unglazed up to 2 months.
