In a medium bowl, whisk together the 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to cream the softened 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract until fully combined.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Gently fold in the 1 cup chocolate chips for even distribution throughout the dough.
Spray a small, air fryer-safe skillet or pan with cooking spray. Press the cookie dough evenly into the skillet.
Place the skillet in the air fryer and cook at 320°F for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
Allow the skillet cookie to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate.
