Description

Crunchy, juicy chicken tenders coated in crushed Doritos and air fried in 14 minutes. Four ingredients, any chip flavor, and an easy oven option.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken tenders, (or chicken breast cut into 1-inch strips)
  • 1 cup Doritos, any flavor, finely crushed
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour, optional, for a sturdier coating
  • Cooking spray or oil mister

Instructions

  • Crush the Doritos into fine crumbs and place them in a shallow bowl.
  • In a second shallow bowl, whisk the egg and milk.
  • Pat the chicken dry. If using flour, dredge each tender in flour and shake off the excess.
  • Dip each tender in the egg wash, let the excess drip off, then press into the Doritos to coat all sides.
  • Lightly grease the air fryer basket. Arrange the tenders in a single layer, working in batches if needed.
  • Air fry at 350°F for 7 minutes. Flip and air fry 7 minutes more, until the chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Rest 2 minutes, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Equipment

  • Instant-read thermometer
  • Parchment paper (optional)

Notes

  • Oven method: Bake at 400°F on a rack set over a lined baking sheet for 15 to 18 minutes, flipping halfway, until 165°F.
  • Spicy or cheesy chips brown faster. Check at 5 minutes on the second side.
  • Storage: Refrigerate up to 3 days or freeze up to 3 months.
  • Reheat: Air fry at 375°F for 3 to 4 minutes (6 to 8 from frozen).
