Description

Crispy Air Fryer Ranch Potatoes need just 3 ingredients and 25 minutes. Golden crispy edges, fluffy centers, and bold ranch flavor — the easiest side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

  • pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, scrubbed and cut into 1-inch cubes (about 4 medium)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning mix, or one 1-ounce packet
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt, to taste (optional — ranch mix is already salty)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Scrub the potatoes and pat them completely dry. Cut into even 1-inch cubes. Drying them well is what gives you crispy edges instead of steamed ones.
  • Add the potatoes to a large bowl, drizzle with the olive oil, and toss until every piece is lightly coated.
  • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the potatoes and toss again until evenly coated. Oil first, then seasoning — the oil is what makes it stick.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Spread the potatoes in the basket in a single layer. Cook in batches if needed — do not overcrowd.
  • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, shaking the basket every 6–7 minutes, until the edges are deep golden brown and a fork slides in easily.
  • Taste and add salt if needed. Garnish with parsley or chives and serve hot.

Equipment

Notes

  • Potatoes: Yukon Gold is best, but baby red, baby gold, fingerling (halved), or russet all work. Cut everything to the same size.
  • Extra crispy: Soak the cubed potatoes in cold water for 15 minutes, then dry completely before oiling.
  • Homemade ranch seasoning: Whisk 2 Tbsp dried parsley, 1 Tbsp dried dill, 1 Tbsp onion powder, 1 Tbsp garlic powder, 1 tsp dried chives, 1 tsp kosher salt, and ½ tsp black pepper. Makes exactly 3 tablespoons.
  • Oven method: Roast at 425°F for 25–30 minutes on a parchment-lined sheet, flipping once.
  • Storage: Airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days. Reheat at 375°F in the air fryer for 3–4 minutes. Do not freeze.
  • Cheesy version: Add ½ cup shredded cheddar in the last 2 minutes of cooking.
