Description

Crispy air fryer apple fries coated in cinnamon-sugar graham cracker crumbs and served with a creamy caramel dip. A fun, lighter take on a fair-style favorite — ready in about 30 minutes and perfect as a snack or dessert.

Ingredients 

Apple Fries

  • 3 large apples, Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch wedges
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, or 1:1 gluten-free flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Olive oil spray

Caramel Cream Dip

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Peel the apples and cut them into even 1/2-inch wedges. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Set up three shallow bowls: in the first, whisk together the flour and cornstarch; in the second, beat the eggs; in the third, stir together the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  • Dip each apple wedge first in the flour mixture, then the egg, then press into the cinnamon-sugar crumbs. Shake off the excess after each dip.
  • Arrange the coated fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket — do not crowd them. Spray generously with olive oil.
  • Air fry at 380°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying again with olive oil after flipping, until golden brown and crisp.
  • Let cool slightly, then serve warm with the caramel cream dip.
  • Beat the softened cream cheese with the brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth and fluffy. Serve alongside the warm apple fries.

Notes

  • Spray the basket with olive oil spray before adding the fries to prevent sticking.
  • Work in batches and keep fries in a single layer with space between them — crowding makes them steam instead of crisp.
  • For a true cooked caramel, swap the cream dip for homemade caramel sauce.
  • Gluten-free: use 1:1 GF flour and gluten-free graham crackers.
  • No air fryer? Bake on a parchment-lined sheet at 375°F until golden, flipping halfway.
