Description

A creamy homemade vanilla Frosty swirled with buttery caramel and layered with crunchy toffee bits, made in the Ninja Slushi. Makes about seven servings — no drive-thru required.

Ingredients

Frosty Base

  • 4 cups whole milk, cold
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream, cold
  • 3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix, dry
  • 2 tablespoons malted milk powder
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt

For Serving

  • 1 cup toffee bits, Heath bits or similar
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce, for drizzling
  • Whipped cream, optional

Instructions

  • In a large bowl or pitcher, whisk together the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, pudding mix, malted milk powder, caramel sauce, vanilla, and salt. Whisk a full minute until no lumps of pudding powder remain and the caramel is fully dissolved.
  • If your ingredients were not cold to start, refrigerate the mixture at least 1 hour.
  • Pour the mixture into the Ninja Slushi vessel, staying between the minimum and maximum fill lines.
  • Select the MILKSHAKE preset and leave it at the default temperature. The unit will beep three times when it reaches target texture, typically in 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Dispense within 30 minutes of the beep to avoid a foamy texture.
  • Drizzle caramel inside a clear cup, dispense the Frosty, add toffee bits, dispense more Frosty, and finish with caramel and a scatter of toffee.

Equipment

  • Ninja SLUSHi Professional Frozen Drink Maker (FS301, XL, or MAX)
  • Large Mixing Bowl or Pitcher
  • Whisk
  • Clear serving cups

Notes

  • Do not add toffee bits or any solid mix-ins to the vessel. Hard pieces can jam the auger and damage the machine. All mix-ins go in the cup.
  • Whole milk and heavy cream are required. Low-fat milk produces an icy, grainy result.
  • Malted milk powder (Carnation or Ovaltine Classic Malt) supplies the faint malty note of the original Frosty.
  • Use thick caramel ice cream topping rather than thin coffee syrup.
  • Run the machine's rinse cycle immediately after dispensing — dairy and caramel harden fast.
  • For a thicker Frosty, lower the temperature setting and allow an extra 10 minutes.
