Description

This copycat Hardee’s Mushroom Swiss Burger delivers big flavor with minimal effort. Whether you're making it for a weekend treat or a weeknight dinner, it’s bound to be a hit. Juicy beef, melty Swiss, and buttery mushrooms all come together for a burger that tastes just like your fast-food favorite—maybe even better!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, 80/20 blend works best
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (white or cremini)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 teaspoons mayonnaise, or your favorite burger sauce, optional

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until soft and golden brown, about 8–10 minutes. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  • Form your ground beef into burger patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Place the burgers into the air fryer basket, and set the air fryer temperature to 400 degrees F, and set the cook time for 10-12 minutes.
  • Place a slice (or two) of Swiss cheese on each patty in the last minute of cooking.
  • Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Spread a light layer of mayo or sauce on the bottom bun, add the beef patty with melted cheese, then top with the sautéed mushrooms. Finish with the top bun.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
