Ingredients
½poundschicken breast, or thigh pieces
1cupbuttermilk
1cupbread crumbs
2largeeggs, beaten
Seasoned Flour Mixture:
1cupflour ,
1teaspoononion powder
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoonpaprika
1teaspoonsalt
½teaspoonblack pepper
Optional Toppings:
2cupsprepared coleslaw, optional
½cupRussian-style dressing, optional
4soft sandwich buns
Instructions
Submerge the ½ pounds chicken breast in 1 cup buttermilk for at least two hours (overnight is even better). This keeps them moist and tender.
Set up three bowls—one with 1 cup flour , 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper another with 2 large eggs and a third with 1 cup bread crumbs mixed with spices.
Pat dry the chicken, then coat it in flour, dip into the egg, and press into the breadcrumb mixture for a solid crust.
Air fry at 375°F for 25–30 minutes (flip halfway), or bake/fry until golden and cooked through.
Layer your chicken on a 4 soft sandwich buns, add 2 cups prepared coleslaw and a generous drizzle of ½ cup Russian-style dressing, and top with the other bun.
