Description

Air Fryer Salsa is a quick and flavorful dip made by roasting fresh vegetables like tomatoes, jalapeños, onions, and garlic in the air fryer. This smoky and tangy salsa is perfect for pairing with chips, tacos, or grilled meats, and it’s customizable to suit your heat preference. With minimal prep and cook time, it’s a must-try for salsa lovers!

Ingredients

  • 4-6 large Roma tomatoes, sliced in half
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, fresh
  • 2 Jalapeno Peppers, Cut in half and seeds removed
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced in 4 pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 3-4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  • Start by washing your tomatoes, jalapeños, and onion. Halve the tomatoes, quarter the onion, and if you prefer a milder salsa, remove the seeds from the jalapeños.
  • Preheat your air fryer to around 375 degrees F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  • Place the tomatoes, jalapeños, onions, and garlic cloves in the air fryer basket. You can lightly drizzle them with olive oil, though it's not necessary
  • Set cooking time for 15-20 minutes or until the vegetables are nicely charred and roasted. Shake the basket or turn the vegetables halfway through cooking process to ensure even roasting.
  • Once roasted, let the vegetables cool down to room temperature. You can peel the tomatoes and jalapeños for a smoother salsa, but this step is optional and depends on your texture preference.
  • Transfer the roasted vegetables to a blender or the bowl of a food processor. Add the fresh lime juice, cilantro, salt, pepper, and cumin (if using).
  • Pulse the mixture until it reaches your desired consistency. For a chunkier salsa, pulse fewer times; for a smoother salsa, blend more.
  • Taste your salsa and adjust the salt, pepper, or lime juice as needed. If it's too spicy, add more tomato to cool it down.
  • Your air fryer salsa is now ready to be served! Enjoy it with chips, over tacos, or as a garnish for other dishes.
  • If not serving immediately, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It typically stays fresh for up to a week.
