Flaky puff pastry French toast made in the air fryer in just 7 minutes. Buttery squares brushed with vanilla custard, air fried golden, and dusted with powdered sugar like a New Orleans beignet — only 5 ingredients.
Ingredients
1packagepuff pastry sheets, partially thawed
1large egg
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1teaspoonground cinnamon
1/2cuppowdered sugar, for dusting
Fresh fruit: blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries (optional)
Instructions
Partially thaw the puff pastry, about 20–30 minutes on the counter. It should unfold without cracking but still feel cold and firm.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
Brush the egg mixture evenly over the surface of the puff pastry in a thin layer. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
Cut the pastry into 2-inch squares. Arrange in a single layer in a greased air fryer basket or on a greased air fryer tray, leaving space between pieces.
Air fry at 300°F for 4 minutes. Flip each square and air fry for 3 more minutes, until golden and puffed.
Rest 1–2 minutes, then dust generously with powdered sugar.
Top with fresh fruit, plate, and serve immediately.
