1onion, sliced
1largegreen bell pepper, thinly sliced
2cupscheese, either white cheddar or provolone cheese
1teaspoonItalian Seasonings , (optional for topping)
Optional: Marinara sauce for serving
Instructions
If you are using homemade dough, roll your dough on a gently floured surface. Cut the dough to have enough dough to wrap the filling, or use a biscuit cutter to make mini calzones.
In a large frying pan, prepare your calzone filling: Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and turn the heat to medium-high heat. When the oil is heated, add the steak, peppers, and onions and saute until fully cooked. Stir frequently.
Then add your filling to the center of the calzone, leave enough space around the edges, so you can fold it up and seal the edges. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
Fold the dough over the calzone. Either use your fingers or use a fork's tines to seal the edges. If you find that the edges are not sealing, use small drops of water.
Spray your air fryer basket/tray with cooking spray or olive oil spray. Place your calzone on the tray and insert the tray into the air fryer.
You can either spray the tops with cooking spray or use an egg wash.
Set your temperature to 375 degrees F for 5 Minutes. After 5 minutes, flip and add another 2-4 minutes. Make sure it’s cooked all the way through.
