Description

Air Fryer Peanut Butter Banana Toast is the easiest 7-minute breakfast — crispy golden toast topped with creamy peanut butter, sweet sliced bananas, and a drizzle of honey. A protein-packed, kid-friendly recipe that turns 4 pantry staples into something special.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread, (white, wheat, or sourdough)
  • 1 banana, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter, (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 teaspoon honey, optional

Instructions

  • Toast the bread. Place the bread slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 365°F (185°C) for 3 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
  • Add the peanut butter. Remove the toast and spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter evenly over each slice while still warm.
  • Add bananas and honey. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer over the peanut butter. Drizzle the honey evenly across both slices.
  • Warm through. Return the loaded toast to the air fryer and cook at 365°F (185°C) for 30 seconds, just until the bananas are warm and the honey is slightly caramelized.
  • Serve. Plate immediately and enjoy while warm.

Notes

Notes

  • Bread choice: Sourdough, whole wheat, and brioche all work beautifully. Use thicker slices so the toast holds up under the toppings.
  • For extra caramelization: Add an additional 1-2 minutes during the second air fry to get the banana and honey golden and bubbly.
  • Make it dairy-free / vegan: Use maple syrup or agave in place of honey.
  • Boost the protein: Sprinkle with hemp seeds, chia seeds, or a layer of Greek yogurt.
  • Add crunch: Top with granola, chopped walnuts, or pecans before the second air fry.
  • Storage: Best eaten immediately. If needed, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day and reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 1-2 minutes.
  • Toaster waffles or cinnamon apple rice cakes make excellent bread swaps.
