Description
Flaky air fryer meat pies made with refrigerated pie crust and a peppery beef and pork filling, ready in about 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1
pound
lean ground beef
1
pound
ground pork sausage
4
green onions
,
sliced (or 1 small white onion, diced)
1
teaspoon
kosher salt
1/2
teaspoon
black pepper
,
plus more for topping
1/2
teaspoon
red pepper flakes
4
refrigerated pie crusts
,
two 2-count boxes
2
tablespoons
unsalted butter
,
melted
Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef, sausage, and onions until browned and crumbled, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the fat.
Stir in the salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Spread the filling on a plate and cool for 10 minutes.
Unroll the pie crusts on a lightly floured board. Cut 4-inch circles with a biscuit cutter or mason jar lid, re-rolling scraps once.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of filling onto one half of each circle. Fold, crimp the edges with a fork, and cut a small steam slit in the top.
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes. Brush the pies with melted butter and sprinkle with pepper.
Air fry in a single layer for 8 to 10 minutes, until deep golden brown. Repeat with the remaining pies. Rest 3 minutes before serving.
