Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels — this is the single most important step for crispy skin.
Coat the wings. Place the wings in a large bowl and toss with the baking powder, flour, salt, and pepper until evenly coated on all sides.
Air fry the wings. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren't touching. Cook at 400°F for 12 minutes, flip, and cook another 12 minutes until golden and crispy.
Make the glaze. While the wings cook, whisk together the honey BBQ sauce and honey in a large bowl. Add a dash of hot sauce if desired.
Sauce the wings. Transfer the cooked wings to the bowl of glaze and toss until fully coated.
Caramelize the glaze. Return the sauced wings to the air fryer and cook for 3 more minutes at 400°F. This creates a sticky, glossy finish that clings to every wing — don't skip this step!
Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley or green onions, with extra honey BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
