Description

A fun, easy way to make homemade (semi-homemade) Funfetti donuts in minutes. One box of cake mix, a quick vanilla glaze, and a handful of sprinkles — the air fryer does the rest.

Ingredients

Donuts

  • 15.25 ounces cake mix, 1 box of Funfetti cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Glaze

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Rainbow sprinkles, for topping

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth. Do not overmix.
  • Lightly grease a donut pan and fill each cavity about two-thirds full. Set the air fryer to 320°F and cook for 6–8 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the donuts cool slightly in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Make the glaze: whisk the melted butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth, adjusting with more milk or sugar to reach a dippable consistency.
  • Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the glaze, then add sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.
  • Let the glaze set a few minutes, then plate, serve, and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Donut Pans, or Donut Molds

Notes

  • Any cake mix flavor works in place of Funfetti.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 2 days, or freeze unglazed up to 1 month.
  • Cooking times vary by air fryer; start checking at 6 minutes.
