Crispy, golden air fryer frozen hush puppies in just 8 minutes — no thawing, no oil splatter, no fuss. Works with Savannah Classics, Great Value, and every air fryer model from Cosori to Ninja Foodi.
Ingredients
16ounceshush puppies, 12–16 oz frozen hush puppies (Savannah Classics, Great Value, or your favorite brand)
Cooking spray, avocado, grapeseed, or olive oil
Flaky sea salt for finishing, optional
Dipping sauce of choice, optional
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. A preheated basket is the difference between deep golden brown and pale-and-soft.
Lightly mist the basket with grapeseed, avocado, or olive oil spray.
Arrange the frozen hush puppies in a single layer in the basket, leaving about ½ inch between each piece. Do not stack. Work in batches if needed — most 5- to 6-quart baskets hold 14 to 18 standard pieces.
Lightly mist the tops of the hush puppies with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
Air fry at 400°F for 4 minutes without opening the basket. Let the breading set.
Shake the basket vigorously or flip each hush puppy with tongs.
Air fry for another 4 minutes at 400°F, or until the hush puppies are deep golden brown and slightly puffed.
Rest for 2 minutes before serving. The interior continues to steam-set after they come out of the basket.
Sprinkle with flaky sea salt (optional) and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
