Description

Frozen Brussels sprouts cooked straight from the bag at 400°F. A two-stage method gives browned, crisp-edged sprouts with tender centers in about 18 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces frozen Brussels sprouts, do not thaw
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or avocado oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes.
  • Spread the frozen Brussels sprouts in a single layer in the basket. Air fry for 8 minutes.
  • Transfer the sprouts to a bowl. Toss with the oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Halve any large sprouts if you like.
  • Return the sprouts to the basket in a single layer. Air fry for 6 to 10 minutes, shaking once, until deep golden outside and fork-tender inside.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan, if using, and serve right away.

Equipment

Notes

  • Cook from frozen. Thawed sprouts turn soggy.
  • In a 4-quart basket, cook a 16 oz bag in two batches.
  • Air fryers vary, so check at the low end of the time range.
  • Leftovers keep 3 days in the fridge. Reheat at 350°F for 3 to 4 minutes.
