Description

Air Fryer Copycat Chick-fil-A Chicken Minis bring the beloved breakfast favorite home — juicy, lightly sweet chicken bites on soft, buttery slider rolls with a drizzle of honey, made in the air fryer in minutes. No drive-thru required!

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced

Marinade

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk, or buttermilk
  • ¼ cup dill pickle juice

Breading

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

For Serving

  • 24 mini slider rolls
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup honey, for drizzling

Instructions

  • Marinate: Cut the chicken into 1-inch pieces. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and dill pickle juice. Add the chicken, coat well, and marinate at least 30 minutes (or overnight, refrigerated).
  • Preheat & mix breading: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes. In a shallow dish, stir together the flour, powdered sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Coat: Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing gently to coat all sides.
  • Air fry: Place the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
  • Toast the rolls: Split the slider rolls, brush the cut sides with melted butter, and toast in the air fryer 1–2 minutes until golden.
  • Assemble: Place a piece of chicken on each roll bottom, drizzle lightly with honey, and add the top.
  • Serve: Arrange on a platter and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

  • For the most authentic flavor, don't skip the pickle juice in the marinade.
  • Spritz the breaded chicken with cooking spray before air frying for a crispier coating.
  • Cook in batches if needed — crowding the basket prevents browning.
  • Store cooked chicken (un-assembled) up to 3 days refrigerated; reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes.
