Description

Crispy cinnamon apple chips made in the air fryer with three ingredients and no oil. Cooked low at 300°F so they dry all the way through instead of browning on the outside.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples, cored and thinly sliced (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, optional

Instructions

  • Core the apples and slice into rounds about 1/8 inch thick, using a mandoline for even thickness.
  • Toss the slices in a large bowl with the cinnamon and sugar until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 300°F for 3 minutes.
  • Arrange the slices in a single layer in the basket with no overlapping. Work in batches.
  • Cook 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway. Start checking at 15 minutes — they should be pale gold and dry to the touch.
  • Cool completely on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes. They crisp as they cool.

Equipment

  • Mandoline slicer (recommended)
  • Cooking spray (optional)
  • Parchment paper (optional, for storage)

Notes

Chips firm up as they cool — pull them when dry to the touch, not when fully hard. Cook in batches rather than overlapping slices.
