Description

Crispy Air Fryer Cinnamon Apple Chips made with just apples and cinnamon — a healthy, naturally sweet snack ready in about 15 minutes with no oil and no deep-frying.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honeycrisp, thinly sliced ⅛-inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon granulated or brown sugar, optional, for sweeter chips

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the apples. Peel or leave skin on, as you prefer.
  • Slice apples into ⅛-inch rounds with a mandoline or sharp knife, keeping slices uniform.
  • In a large bowl, toss the slices with cinnamon (and sugar, if using) until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes.
  • Arrange slices in a single layer in the basket without overlapping; mist lightly with cooking spray if desired. Cook in batches as needed.
  • Air fry 8–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp. Watch closely near the end to avoid burning.
  • Cool on a wire rack — chips crisp further as they cool. Serve or store airtight.

Equipment

  • Mandoline slicer (recommended)
  • Cooking spray (optional)
  • Parchment paper (optional, for storage)

Notes

  • Best apples: firm varieties crisp best; avoid mealy apples.
  • No-sugar version: skip the sugar — apples are naturally sweet.
  • Storage: airtight container, room temperature, with parchment between layers. Not fridge/freezer.
  • Variations: swap cinnamon for pumpkin pie spice, apple pie spice, or chai; or go savory with salt + chili powder.
