Description

Soft, fluffy air fryer chocolate chip muffins with golden bakery-style tops, ready in about 30 minutes. This easy one-bowl recipe makes a small batch of 8 — perfect for busy mornings, lunchboxes, or an afternoon snack, no oven required.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter, slightly cooled
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sugar.
  • Add the egg, vanilla extract, milk, and melted butter. Stir until just combined — do not overmix.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spray silicone muffin cups or an air-fryer-safe muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray and fill each cup about two-thirds full. Sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  • Place the cups in the air fryer basket and cook at 320 degrees F (air fryer setting) for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Check doneness with a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin — it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Add 1 to 2 minutes if needed.
  • Cool the muffins in the basket for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm.

Equipment

  • Silicone muffin cups or air-fryer-safe muffin tin
  • Large Mixing Bowl,
  • Nonstick Cooking Spray

Notes

  • Exact cook time depends on your air fryer model and your bakeware — metal tins cook faster than silicone cups. Always confirm with a toothpick before removing the muffins.
  • Using unsalted butter? Add a small pinch of salt to the dry ingredients to balance the sweetness.
  • Oven directions: bake at 350 degrees F for 15 to 18 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Storage: airtight container for 2 days on the counter, up to a week in the fridge, or freeze individually wrapped muffins for up to 3 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 300 degrees F for 2 to 3 minutes.
