Description

Warm up your evenings with a delicious bowl of Air Fryer Chili Con Carne! This hearty and flavorful dish combines tender beef, beans, tomatoes, and a perfect blend of spices, all cooked to perfection in your air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bottom round roast, diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 large green bell pepper, chopped
  • 14.5 ounces tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder, adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, diced onions, jalapeños, avocado, fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Cut the round roast into small, bite-sized cubes. This helps in quicker and even cooking.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes. This will give you meat a great sear.
  • Place the cubed round roast in the air fryer basket. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the meat is browned on all sides. You may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Transfer the cooked meat to an air fryer safe dish, and add the diced onion and minced garlic to the browned meat. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onions are softened and fragrant.
  • Mix in the diced bell pepper, kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  • Transfer the mixture to an air fryer-safe dish if it was temporarily removed. Cook in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
  • Ensure the chili is hot and bubbly, and the flavors are well combined. If needed, cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Spoon the chili into bowls. Add your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, diced onions, jalapeños, avocado, and fresh cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips, cornbread, or rice.
