Easy homemade cheddar cheese bagels made in the air fryer with just 5 ingredients. No yeast, no boiling — ready in 25 minutes!
Ingredients
1cupplain Greek yogurt, thick, not watery
1cupself-rising flour, see notes for substitute
½teaspoonkosher salt
2tablespoonsshredded sharp cheddar cheese, plus extra for topping
1large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Mix the dough. In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, self-rising flour, and salt. Stir until a shaggy dough forms, then knead briefly until smooth.
Add cheese. Fold the shredded cheddar cheese into the dough until evenly distributed.
Shape. Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each into a ball, poke a hole through the center, and gently stretch into a bagel shape.
Egg wash. Brush the tops with beaten egg. Sprinkle with extra cheddar if desired.
Air fry. Place bagels in an air fryer basket lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8–11 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
Serve. Let cool for 2–3 minutes, then slice and enjoy warm.
