Description

Soft, gooey air fryer caramel apple cinnamon rolls made with refrigerated pizza dough, a buttery cinnamon brown sugar filling, and diced apples tossed in salted caramel sauce. Ready in about 20 minutes with no oven required.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/3 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and finely diced
  • 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  • In a bowl, stir together the butter, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar until smooth and spreadable. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, toss the diced apple with the salted caramel sauce until coated. Set aside.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a 12 x 8-inch rectangle.
  • Spread the cinnamon butter over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border along one long edge. Scatter the caramel apples over the top.
  • Starting from the opposite long edge, roll the dough into a tight log and press the seam to seal. Cut into 6 rolls with a sharp serrated knife.
  • Line the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper. Working in batches, arrange the rolls with space between them and air fry at 300 degrees F for 10 minutes.
  • Increase the temperature to 350 degrees F and cook for 10 to 12 minutes more, until deep golden brown and cooked through in the center.
  • Drizzle with powdered sugar icing or warm caramel sauce while still warm.

Equipment

  • Perforated parchment paper, optional
  • Rolling Pin
  • Serrated knife

Notes

Powdered sugar icing: Whisk 1 cup powdered sugar with 3 to 4 tablespoons milk until smooth, adding the milk gradually. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Doneness: Centers should read about 190 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer.
Make ahead: Assemble and slice up to 8 hours in advance, refrigerate, and add 1 to 2 minutes to the first cooking stage.
