Description

Bite-sized chicken wrapped in bacon, brushed with BBQ sauce, and air fried at 390°F until crispy. An easy party appetizer ready in about 35 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, (about 1½ lb), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 12 slices bacon, cut in half. regular-cut
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce, plus more for dipping
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Pat the chicken dry and toss it with the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
  • Wrap each piece with a half slice of bacon and secure it with a toothpick through the overlap.
  • Place the bites in a single layer, in batches, and air fry for 5–6 minutes.
  • Flip, brush with BBQ sauce (mixed with maple syrup, if using), and cook 5–6 minutes more, until the bacon is crisp and the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Serve warm with extra sauce for dipping.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

  • Use regular-cut bacon. Thick-cut won't crisp before the chicken is cooked.
  • Brush on the sauce halfway through so it doesn't burn.
  • Wrapped, uncooked bites keep in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
  • Nutrition is based on ½ cup of BBQ sauce, without the optional sweetener.
