Description

Crispy, golden apple pie wontons made in the air fryer with just 4 simple ingredients. The easiest fall dessert you'll ever make — perfect for parties, after-school snacks, or whenever an apple pie craving hits.

Ingredients

  • 16 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup apple pie filling, diced into smaller pieces
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Olive oil spray
  • 1 tablespoon sparkling sugar, optional

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the diced apple pie filling, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Stir well.
  • Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Add about 1 tablespoon of the apple filling to the center.
  • Dip a finger in water (or the excess filling liquid) and brush around all four edges of the wrapper.
  • Fold the wonton into a triangle, bringing one corner to the opposite corner. Press the edges firmly to seal — use a fork for extra security.
  • Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Arrange the wontons in a single layer with space between each one.
  • Spray the tops of the wontons lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with sparkling sugar if using.
  • Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 5–6 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Let cool for 1–2 minutes, then serve warm with caramel sauce, powdered sugar, or ice cream.

Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Small bowl of water (for sealing wontons)
  • Olive oil spray bottle or cooking spray
  • Fork (for sealing edges)
  • Pastry brush (optional, for brushing water on edges)

Notes

  • Don't overfill — 1 tablespoon per wonton is the maximum before they burst.
  • Cook in batches if your air fryer is small. Overcrowding = soggy wontons.
  • Want to make these ahead? Freeze assembled, uncooked wontons on a parchment-lined tray, then transfer to a freezer bag. Cook straight from frozen, adding 1–2 minutes to the time.
