Tender amaretto-spiced apples under a buttery almond-oat topping, air-fried golden and bubbly in under 30 minutes. An easy, small-batch twist on classic apple crumble — no oven required.
Ingredients
For the filling
4Granny Smith apples, about 600 g, peeled and diced
3tbspamaretto liqueur
2tbsplight brown sugar
1tbspcornstarch
1tspground cinnamon
1tbsplemon juice
For the crumble topping
¾cupall-purpose flour
½cuprolled oats
⅓cuplight brown sugar
¼tspsalt
¼tspalmond extract, optional
6tbspbutter, cold unsalted butter, cubed
⅓cupalmonds, sliced
Instructions
Macerate: Toss diced apples with amaretto, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Set aside while you make the topping.
Make the topping: Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and almond extract. Rub in the cold butter until coarse, pea-sized crumbs form, then fold in the sliced almonds.
Assemble: Divide the apple mixture among 4 air-fryer-safe ramekins. Mound the crumble evenly over each.
Air fry: Cook at 320°F (160°C) for 18–22 minutes, until the topping is deep golden and the filling bubbles at the edges. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
Rest & serve: Let rest 5 minutes to thicken. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
