Rinse 1 cup of jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This step removes excess starch and helps prevent stickiness.
Place the rinsed rice in the Instant Pot.
Add 1 cup of water. If using, also add the salt and butter or oil.
Secure the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to the sealing position.
Select the ‘Pressure Cook’ or ‘Manual’ setting and set the timer for 5 minutes on high pressure.
After the cooking time is complete, allow the Instant Pot to release pressure naturally for 10 minutes. This means not doing anything for 10 minutes post-cooking.
After 10 minutes, carefully turn the valve to the venting position to release any remaining pressure.
Once the pressure is fully released, open the lid.
Fluff the jasmine rice with a fork and serve. It's now ready to be enjoyed as a side dish or as part of your main course.
