Description

Enjoy perfectly cooked, fluffy jasmine rice with the ease of an Instant Pot. This simple and foolproof method delivers consistently excellent results, making it a go-to staple for any meal needing a fragrant and delicate rice accompaniment.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Jasmine Rice, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup Water, for a 1:1 rice to water ratio
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt, optional, for flavor enhancement
  • 1 tablespoon Butter , or Oil: optional, for a richer texture

Instructions

  • Rinse 1 cup of jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This step removes excess starch and helps prevent stickiness.
  • Place the rinsed rice in the Instant Pot.
  • Add 1 cup of water. If using, also add the salt and butter or oil.
  • Secure the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to the sealing position.
  • Select the ‘Pressure Cook’ or ‘Manual’ setting and set the timer for 5 minutes on high pressure.
  • After the cooking time is complete, allow the Instant Pot to release pressure naturally for 10 minutes. This means not doing anything for 10 minutes post-cooking.
  • After 10 minutes, carefully turn the valve to the venting position to release any remaining pressure.
  • Once the pressure is fully released, open the lid.
  • Fluff the jasmine rice with a fork and serve. It's now ready to be enjoyed as a side dish or as part of your main course.

Equipment

  • Instant Pot, or Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker
