Description

Air Fryer Chicken Street Tacos -- Street tacos are a delicious way to enjoy Mexican cuisine. They're quick and easy to make but time-consuming if you don't know the right techniques. One of the best ways is with carne asada (steak); this recipe will show you how in just two easy steps!

Ingredients 

  • 1-2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2-3 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 corn tortillas, or flour tortillas
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 small Onion, finely diced
  • 1 small Avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Cabbage , or lettuce, shredded
  • 1/8 cup Cotija cheese, or queso fresco chees, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup Salsa, or hot sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Cut the chicken breasts into small, thin strips or bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken with taco seasoning, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  • Place the seasoned chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly crispy on the edges. Shake the basket or turn the chicken halfway through cooking.
  • Wrap corn tortillas in foil and place them in the air fryer for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking the chicken, or warm them on a skillet.
  • Place a few pieces of cooked chicken on each tortilla.
  • Top with diced onion, chopped cilantro, shredded cabbage or lettuce, and sliced avocado.
  • Sprinkle with crumbled cheese and add a dollop of salsa or a few drops of hot sauce to taste.
  • Serve your Chicken Street Tacos immediately while everything is still warm. Accompany with lime wedges and extra salsa or hot sauce on the side.
