Description

Instant Pot Elderberry Syrup -- This recipe was created to combat the cold and flu season. Elderberry syrup is a great way to stay healthy and safe from the typical winter bugs that seem never to end.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups dried elderberries
  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 15 whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 2 cups honey

Instructions

  • In your Instant Pot, add the dried elderberries, water, cloves, and cinnamon, mix well.
  • Then add your lid, ensure the vent is sealed and set the manual high pressure for 20 minutes.
  • When the timer beeps (or the time is up), let it naturally release.
  • When the pin has dropped, and the lid can come off, open it up, and mix well.
  • Then strain the liquid/berry mixture, and then mix in the grated ginger and honey.
  • Transfer to a sealable jar.

Equipment

  • Instant Pot, or Pressure Cooker
