Description

Instant Pot Homemade BBQ Sauce --The weather is getting warmer, and we know what that means: BBQ season! To make it easier on your wallet and save time, you can make homemade BBQ sauce in the Instant Pot.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 teaspoons liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to the inner instant pot bowl.
  • Secure the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to Manual or Pressure Cook mode on high pressure for 5 minutes. Make sure the steam release valve is set to the sealing position.
  • Once the cooking time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for about 10 minutes. Then, carefully turn the steam release valve to the venting position to release any remaining pressure.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode and simmer the sauce for a few more minutes until it reaches your desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
  • Give the sauce a taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or any other seasonings to suit your preferences.
  • Allow the BBQ sauce to cool slightly before transferring it to a jar or airtight container. Store it in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze it for longer storage.

Equipment

  • Instant Pot, Pressure Cooker, or Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker
  • Wooden Spoon
