Description

Air Fryer Smash Burgers — If you’re a fan of Smashburger, you’ll love this fryer copycat recipe for their delicious burgers.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef, lean
  • 3 slices Swiss Cheese
  • 3 regular hamburger buns
  • 3 slices lettuce
  • 1/4 cup onions, diced

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). This ensures a hot environment for cooking the burgers quickly and evenly.
  • Divide the ground beef into equal portions, rolling them into loose balls. Don’t overwork the meat to keep the burgers juicy.
  • Place a ball of beef in the air fryer basket. Then, use a spatula or burger press to smash it down into a thin patty. This increases the surface area for a crispy exterior. You might need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Sprinkle the top of each patty with salt and pepper.
  • Slide the basket into the air fryer and cook for about 5-10 minutes for medium-rare to medium, or longer for well-done. If adding cheese, place it on the patties during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  • Place the cooked patties on the buns, add your chosen toppings, and enjoy your juicy, flavorful smash burgers straight from the air fryer!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Wax Paper
  • Cooking Spray
