Start by making the blackened spice. Mix the paprika, brown sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, thyme, and oregano in a small bowl. Mix well.
Then brush the butter onto the salmon and then cover it with the spice mixture.
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 2-3 minutes.
Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the basket of your air fryer, skin side down, ensuring they're not touching or overlapping. This ensures even cooking. For added flavor brush the top of the salmon with melted butter, or drizzle olive oil or avocado oil
Set cook time for 8-10 minutes. The exact time might vary based on the thickness of the salmon fillets and your specific air fryer model.
The salmon should flake easily with a fork when it's done. Additionally, you can use a meat thermometer; the internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) when fully cooked.
Once cooked, carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer. Drizzle with fresh lemon juice or a sauce of your choice, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve immediately
