Description

The air fryer is the latest must-have appliance for cooks of all levels of expertise. It's perfect for anyone who wants to make quick and healthy meals without having to slave over a hot stove. Today, we're going to show you how to make southern deviled eggs in your air fryer. These eggs are a classic party appetizer, and they're sure to be a hit with your guests! Let's get started.

Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons mustard, Dijon or yellow
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish, sweet or dill
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar, white or apple cider
  • Paprika for garnish, smoked or sweet
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional garnishes: chives, bacon bits, or additional relish

Instructions

  • Place the eggs in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 270°F (132°C) and cook for 16-17 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
  • Once cooked, immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool. This stops the cooking process and makes peeling easier.
  • After the eggs have cooled, gently peel them. The cooler temperature should help the shell come off more easily.
  • Cut the peeled eggs in half lengthwise. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Add mayonnaise, mustard, pickle relish, and vinegar to the yolks. Mash and stir the mixture until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollows of the egg whites. For a more polished look, you can use a piping bag with a star tip.
  • Sprinkle each deviled egg with paprika for color and added flavor. Optionally, you can also top with a small sprig of dill or parsley for a fresh touch.
  • Refrigerate the deviled eggs for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
