Description

Learn how to make Waffle House-style hash browns at home! Crispy, golden, and customizable with cheese, onions, and more for the perfect diner-style breakfast.

Ingredients 

  • 6 cups Potatoes, Shredded , fresh or frozen, drained if frozen
  • 3 tablespoons Butter or oil , or oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup Onions, optional (cooked)
  • 1/2 cup Cheese, optional: such as cheddar or American

Instructions

  • If using fresh potatoes, shred and rinse in cold water. Pat dry with a towel to remove excess starch.
  • Place a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat with butter or oil.
  • Spread shredded potatoes in an even layer.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Let them crisp without stirring for 4–5 minutes. Flip and cook another 4–5 minutes until both sides are golden brown.
  • Smother with onions, cover with cheese, or top with chili—just like Waffle House.
